KUALA LUMPUR (July 20): Aluminium Co of Malaysia Bhd's (Alcom) group managing director Datuk Lim Chee Khoon has stepped down from his position effective yesterday.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Alcom said this is to allow Lim to focus on property development projects to be launched by Alcom's wholly-owned units SCLand Development Sdn Bhd and EM Hub Sdn Bhd.

Lim, 51, has also resigned as Alcom's executive director.

Lim holds an indirect interest of 39.68 million shares or 29.32% stake in Alcom, via SCland Holdings Sdn Bhd.

According to Alcom's 2017 annual report, Lim was appointed as Alcom's executive director on Oct 13, 2017 and assumed his role as its group managing director on Nov 8, 2017.

With 28 years of experience in property development and project management, he was the founder of SCland Sdn Bhd, a property investment and development company, and was overseeing all its projects in Klang Valley, Selangor, Pahang and Sabah.

Prior to SCland Sdn Bhd, Lim was property development company C P Land Sdn Bhd's chief executive officer.

Shares of Alcom closed unchanged at 73 sen yesterday, for a market capitalisation of RM98.79 million. — theedgemarkets.com
