KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): Construction firm Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd (KL:FAJAR) announced on Tuesday that the company will rebrand as FBG Holdings Bhd, with the name change taking effect on Bursa Malaysia at 9am this Friday, Aug 8.

The group said its securities will be traded and quoted under the new name, with stock codes remaining unchanged, according to its filing with Bursa Malaysia. Its warrant will also reflect the new name, changing from Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd—Warrant 2021/2026 to FBG Holdings Bhd—Warrant 2021/2026, with a new short name of FBG-WC.

The company had on July 2 received a notice of registration of new name from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, pursuant to Section 28 of the Companies Act 2016, following the approval of its shareholders.

Since the beginning of the year, Fajarbaru has secured a slew of contracts, lifting its total order book to RM1.14 billion, providing earnings visibility through to 2027.

Shares in Fajarbaru closed half a sen or 2.1% lower at 23 sen on Tuesday, valuing the group at RM171.3 million. Year-to-date, the stock has declined nearly 40%.
