KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 22): ITMAX System Bhd (KL:ITMAX) has secured a RM50.97 million contract from the Batu Pahat Municipal Council (MPBP) for the provision of smart city solutions, including closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems with artificial intelligence (AI) features.

In a bourse filing on Monday, ITMAX said the contract was awarded to its 65%-owned subsidiary, Southmax Sdn Bhd.

The 15-year contract, commencing Sept 1, 2025, covers the installation and rental of AI-powered CCTV cameras, panic buttons and smart traffic lights, as well as the establishment of the Batu Pahat Smart Integrated Operations Centre.

Under the agreement, Southmax will be liable for liquidated and ascertained damages in the event of delays. These may be calculated based on the monthly rental per unit for equipment delays, or a penalty equivalent to the base lending rate plus 1% of the contract value for failure to commence or complete services.

The latest contract follows ITMAX’s appointment for three concessions under the Selangor Smart Parking initiative this year.

To date, the company has been tasked with managing the Selangor Intelligent Parking (SIP) system in three municipalities, namely the Shah Alam City Council, Subang Jaya City Council and Selayang Municipal Council.

ITMAX posted a record-high net profit of RM23.07 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2QFY2025), up more than 20% year-on-year from RM19.16 million, driven by higher revenue.

Quarterly revenue rose 9.8% year-on-year to RM58.46 million from RM53.25 million, boosted by a 68.8% surge in revenue from digital infrastructure offerings such as video surveillance, analytics and subscription services.
