KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 26): GuocoLand (Malaysia) Bhd (KL:GUOCO) managing director Noorbaizura Hermeyney has resigned effective Jan 24 (Saturday), after helming the property developer for close to two years.

The property arm of Hong Leong Group said in a filing on Friday that Noorbaizura, 45, stepped down "to pursue other career opportunities".

She was appointed as GuocoLand's managing director on May 18, 2023 after serving as chief executive officer of GLM REIT Management Sdn Bhd, the manager of Tower Real Estate Investment Trust (KL:TWRREIT).

Following her exit, chief operating officer Raymond Chin Yun Choi will assume responsibility for the business and day-to-day management of the group.

"Raymond Chin is an engineering trained property development leader. He has over 35 years of experience in real estate, infrastructure and construction across Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam," GuocoLand said.

The property developer reported net profit of RM6.1 million for its first financial quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (1QFY2026), more than doubling from RM2.91 million a year earlier on stronger contributions from its property and hotel divisions.

Revenue rose 76.8% year-on-year to RM122.72 million, driven mainly by sales and progressive billings from the Emerald 9 project in Cheras, higher crude palm oil prices in the plantation segment and improved hotel performance—with a 13% increase in average room rates.

GuocoLand shares closed up 0.5 sen or 0.61% to 82 sen on Friday, valuing the company at RM574.38 million. Over the past one year, the counter has gained 28.1%.
