PETALING JAYA (Jan 28): Radium Development Bhd has contributed RM30,000 towards upgrading facilities at SMK St Mary, Kuala Lumpur.

Its group managing director Datuk Gary Gan Kah Siong said creating a supportive and conducive learning environment is essential to the growth and development of future generations.

“SMK St Mary, KL was selected as the beneficiary of this initiative in line with Radium’s philosophy of giving back to communities within the vicinity of its developments and supporting the wellbeing of those who live and learn there,” he said in a statement.

The contribution will be used to improve the school’s facilities, with the aim of providing a safer and more conducive learning environment for students and staff.

The cheque presentation took place at SMK St Mary, KL, and was attended by representatives from Radium, the school’s Board of Governors and the Parents-Teachers Association.

The upgrades are expected to benefit 1,075 students as well as 96 academic and non-academic staff.

The initiative is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), through support for facility upgrades at the school.
