PETALING JAYA (April 3): KLK Land Sdn Bhd, the property development arm of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK), is progressing towards the opening of Coalfields Retail Park on Aug 20, 2026, with approximately 85% occupancy secured ahead of launch.
In a statement today (Friday, April 3) the company said the take-up reflects confidence in both the development and its ability to serve a wider catchment, marking a milestone for its first retail development.
This progress was commemorated through a tenant engagement event held at the site, bringing together partners and tenants as the project enters its final phase, following the issuance of its Certificate of Completion and Compliance on March 12, 2026.
Coalfields Retail Park represents KLK Land’s first retail development and marks the next phase in the evolution of Bandar Seri Coalfields, as the township continues to mature into a more integrated environment.
Twenty-one-acre hybrid retail concept with lakeside integration
Strategically located in Sungai Buloh within the North Klang Valley, the development spans 21 acres, with a gross built-up area of 1 million sq ft.
Key project details:
*Concept: 2½-storey hybrid indoor-outdoor retail park
*Connectivity: Directly linked to a 7-acre lake park
*Access: Jalan Kuala Selangor, Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), and Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR)
Diverse tenant mix anchored by lifestyle and family offerings
The development features a curated mix of anchor and key tenants spanning retail, dining and lifestyle segments including:
*Village Grocer, Harborland, Blue Ice Skating Rink
*Decathlon, Skechers, Harvey Norman, KKV
*Maybank
Food and beverage offerings include:
*McDonald’s, The Social, Serai Seafood Restaurant
*Canton Boy, Hock Kee Kopitiam, Baskin Robbins
*Fish & Co., La Pane Pizza, Andra by Gula Cakery
Additional offerings across fashion, home and living, and lifestyle categories include Daisy by Voir, Bata, Hooga, Tomei and Big Pharmacy, among others, forming a diverse tenant mix aimed at delivering a broad-based retail experience.
The retail park is supported by a population of over one million people within a 20-minute drive, alongside an established residential base of more than 10,000 residents within Bandar Seri Coalfields. The area continues to attract a growing base of young families and mid- to upper-income households.
The township, currently approximately 70% completed, is supported by ongoing residential developments such as Walden 2 and Quinton. This is further underpinned by KLK Land’s approximately 5,000-acre landbank in the surrounding corridor, which is being progressively developed as the location continues to mature.
As the surrounding areas continue to grow, the retail and lifestyle offering within this part of the North Klang Valley remains relatively underserved, positioning the development to meet evolving community needs.
