KOTA KINABALU (June 19): Jesselton International has unveiled The Shoppes at The V, an open-air commercial development within its mixed-use development called The V, which is located along the Likas Bay waterfront in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

According to a press statement issued on Friday, the new launch is a component of the developer’s RM1.5 billion, 10-acre The V. The component is positioned along a coastal corridor, supported by a built-in catchment of approximately 1,700 commercial suite units and 112 corporate office units located within four 40-storey towers above The V, alongside an estimated 8,000 residents within the Likas Bay area.

“The way people engage with retail and commercial spaces today has evolved significantly. Consumers are increasingly drawn towards environments that are convenient, experience-driven and socially engaging. With The Shoppes at The V, we wanted to create a destination that naturally becomes part of everyday life — from morning coffee runs and wellness routines to sunset dining and evening social experiences,” said Jesselton International managing director Nick Chu in the statement.

The retail environment incorporates biophilic design principles, integrating greenery, natural ventilation and community gathering spaces such as the Dining Walk, The Courtyard, and an elevated Sunset Terrace.

The upper levels of the development are designated for wellness-focused medical and aesthetic services, boutique fitness, experiential retail, family entertainment, enrichment centres and social dining spaces.
