PETALING JAYA (July 30): Econpile Holdings Bhd said its wholly owned subsidiary, Econpile (M) Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM39.52 million subcontract from WCT Construction Sdn Bhd for earthworks, bored piling and sub-structure works at a proposed commercial development in Jalan Awan Besar, Kuala Lumpur.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Wednesday (July 29), the group said Econpile (M) had received the letter of award on July 28, with the award dated July 22.
The works comprise earthworks, bored piling and sub-structure works for a proposed commercial development consisting of four five-storey commercial shop blocks with 68 units, two levels of sub-basement car parks (LG1-LG2), one commercial unit, one main switch station and one refuse chamber at LG2 level.
The development is located at Plot K1-1A, comprising part of Lots 104492, 104493, 104496 and 104497, Jalan Awan Besar, Mukim Petaling, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
The project is scheduled for completion within 15 months from July 29, 2026.
Econpile said the subcontract is expected to contribute positively to the group's revenue and earnings from the financial year ending June 30, 2027 onwards.
The company said it does not foresee any significant risks associated with the project other than normal operational risks, which will be managed through appropriate control measures and operational procedures.
It added that none of its directors, major shareholders or persons connected with them has any direct or indirect interest in the subcontract.
