Earlier this morning, the lawyers of former deputy prime minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had sought a postponement to his graft and money laundering trial as they said Zahid was scheduled to attend a meeting with Muhyiddin to discuss the new Cabinet line-up.

Justice Datuk Ahmad Bache ruled the Pekan MP's application for a stay is against public interests.

Khairul Azam filed the application at the Kuala Lumpur High Court registry through the firm of Raja Riza and Associates today.

Justice Datuk Nordin Hassan denied leave for the three of them and 31 other applicants who are challenging the MACC notices issued to them last October.

"The parliament can only be dissolved upon the Agong receiving the advice of the Prime Minister under Article 40(3) of the Federal Constitution."

This follows the Sessions judge presiding the case Rozina Ayob recusing herself from hearing the case.

Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan allowed deputy public prosecutor Mohd Zaki Asyraf Zubir and Aaron Chelliah's application to transfer the case involving Ng, who is presently in the United States, to the High Court.
