Of the three new cases today, two were local transmissions involving foreigners while one was a Malaysian who was infected while overseas, according to the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The decision to close the hiking spot was made under Section 18 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 after photos of long queues of hikers waiting to enter Broga Hill went viral on social media.
Of the four new cases reported today, three were imported.
“Our projection model shows that in mid-July, so maybe within next month, if we are still complying with the SOPs, we will record zero cases, and that is our mission,” Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a media briefing yesterday.
Two were imported cases involving a Malaysian and a non-citizen who were infected while abroad.
The number of active cases declined to 283 as recoveries continue to outpace new infections
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 302 cases — which accounted for 96% of all cases in the cluster — involved foreign workers from Nepal (163), Bangladesh (67), Myanmar (35), Indonesia (31), India (four), Vietnam (one), and Cambodia (one).
This is the lowest since March 14 when the number of active cases stood at 203.
