PETALING JAYA (Aug 15): The smoke from fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia that have recently become worse are blowing into Sarawak, satellite images obtained by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department show.

Despite firefighters keeping the wildfires in Mukah, Bintulu and Bintangor under control, changing wind directions are believed to have caused smog from west Kalimantan to blow into the state, reported The Star.

The satellite images show several hotspot clusters – each one over 1sq km in size – in the Indonesian region.
