The Malaysian Anti-corruption Commission (MACC) will conduct an investigation into its own officers who have been incriminated by a Hindu NGO leader over a temple land probe.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki said the commission will contact Hindu Agamam Ani Malaysia Association adviser Arun Doraisamy, who claimed that three MACC officers had leaked information to a "Tan Sri" and his "Datuk" son linked to the the development of a parcel owned by the Sri Mahamariamman Devasthanam temple in Kuala Lumpur.

"Yes we will call," Azam was reported telling Malaysiakini yesterday.

"We will investigate both cases. The case against my officers and the main case as well," he added.

Acting on a report lodged by Arun, MACC “raided, arrested and obtained a three-day remand order against the ‘Tan Sri’ and his son under Section 16 (a) of the MACC Act 2009” on May 4.

However, Arun claimed that in the morning before the arrest, three officers who were not in the raid team had breakfast with the two suspects, prompting Arun to send a letter on May 16 to MACC chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull about the alleged leak.

Earlier yesterday, Arun told a press conference he was yet to be contacted by MACC, but he expressed his willingness to assist in both investigations.

"I was hoping that the MACC would contact us, but not yet. I hope that they will be doing it soon," he stated.
