KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 1): Employees Provident Fund (EPF) CEO Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias has been made a non-independent and non-executive director of Sime Darby Plantation Bhd, effective Jan 1.

In a bourse filing, the plantation arm of the Sime Darby group said Tunku Alizakri will also serve as a member of Sime Darby Plantation’s sustainability committee.

He replaces Datuk Mohammad Nasir Ab Latif, 61, as the nominee director from EPF, the group added.

As of Nov 30, EPF had a 13.97% stake in Sime Darby Plantation. Pemodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) is its largest shareholder, holding a 56.34% stake.

Sime Darby Plantation’s shares closed 1.98% or 11 sen lower at RM5.45 today, valuing the group at RM37.52 billion.
