KUALA LUMPUR (March 17): Malaysians who travel daily to Singapore for work will not be allowed to do so beginning tomorrow until March 31.

This has been confirmed by Immigration director-general Khairul Dzaimee Daud in a report by Malaysiakini.

"Not allowed from tomorrow until March 31," Khairul told the news portal in a WhatsApp message.

Khairul also added that the same restriction also applies to those who commute daily to Thailand.

Putrajaya yesterday imposed a restricted movement order nationwide from March 18 to March 31 to address the COVID-19 outbreak.

In an announcement by PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday, the restricted movement order also covers all Malaysians traveling abroad and for all tourists and foreign visitors into the country.

For those who have just returned from overseas, they are required to undergo a health check and to do a quarantine or self-quarantine for 14 days.
