KUALA LUMPUR (March 27): Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there has been one more death due to COVID-19 that was reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre, bringing the total number of deaths in Malaysia to 24.

The deceased was a Malaysian aged 35, who had travelled to Indonesia earlier this month.

"[The deceased] had symptoms five days before being admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur on March 18, 2020. The COVID-19 results were found to be positive on March 20, 2020.

"[The patient's] health deteriorated day by day and had passed away on March 26 at 9.30pm," said Noor Hisham in a statement.

He said the Ministry of Health gives its condolences to the family of the deceased.
