• “With Sunway Cochrane, we are setting a new benchmark for transit-oriented developments (TODs) in Kuala Lumpur by placing direct MRT access, GreenRE compliance, and future-ready features such as electric vehicle (EV) charging at the heart of the design.”

PETALING JAYA (Oct 9): Sunway Property has opened registration for Sunway Cochrane, a 5.4-acre freehold serviced apartment project located along Jalan Cochrane, Kuala Lumpur.

Sunway Property CEO Chong Sau Min said that as a Master Community Developer, the company’s vision is to create integrated developments that go beyond housing.

“Our goal is to build healthy, resilient, and connected ecosystems for the community,” he said in a statement.

“With Sunway Cochrane, we are setting a new benchmark for transit-oriented developments (TODs) in Kuala Lumpur by placing direct MRT access, GreenRE compliance, and future-ready features such as electric vehicle (EV) charging at the heart of the design.

“Guided by our proprietary Sunway Design and Development Architecture (SDDA) framework anchored on sustainability, innovation, health and wellness, and lifestyle and new experiences, every detail of this development has been crafted with care to deliver long-term value for both homeowners and investors,” added Chong.

Positioned as a TOD, Sunway Cochrane will be directly linked to the Cochrane MRT station via a 60-metre covered bridge.

The project will feature over 40 lifestyle facilities and aims to cater to urban professionals, young families, and expatriates seeking connected and sustainable city living.

Strong demand for TODs

Research published by Sciendo shows that property values in Kuala Lumpur increase by about 5.6% for every 100 metres closer to a rail transit station.

This trend has strengthened investor interest in TODs, which are increasingly viewed as the backbone of Kuala Lumpur’s urban housing market.

Sunway Cochrane will provide direct MRT access, connecting residents to key destinations such as TRX, Bukit Bintang, Merdeka 118, and KL Sentral, which links directly to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Located opposite IKEA Cheras and MyTown Shopping Centre, the development is also connected to the established Sunway Velocity township, giving residents access to retail, healthcare, education, and hospitality amenities within walking distance.

Design and sustainability

The project consists of two towers of serviced apartments with two- to three-bedroom layouts ranging from 650 sq ft to 1,001 sq ft.

Select units will feature hackable wall options, allowing flexible space configurations. Each unit will be smart-home ready, equipped with digital door locks and app-based controls for lighting and air conditioning.

Sunway Cochrane will be GreenRE-compliant and equipped with EV charging bays. Facilities include a 50-metre infinity pool, elevated gym, co-working lounges, and rooftop sky decks with views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.

The Sunway Cochrane Property Gallery will open on Oct 11, with registration now open for homebuyers and investors seeking priority access.
