KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): EP Manufacturing Bhd is acquiring 18.75 acres of industrial land in Alor Gajah, Melaka, for RM35.12 million, or RM43 psf, as part of its long-term strategy to expand vehicle assembly and component manufacturing operations.

Its wholly-owned subsidiary EP Moulds & Dies (M) Sdn Bhd is buying the land from Xepa-Soul Pattinson (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (XSPSB), a subsidiary of Apex Healthcare Bhd, according to EP Manufacturing's bourse filing on Monday.

XSPSB's directors are Ch’ng Kien Peng and Dr Kee Kirk Chin.

EPMB said the acquisition will be funded through internally generated funds and bank borrowings.

The company noted that the acquisition supports its ongoing manufacturing transformation by addressing the need for increased capacity.

Plans include establishing a centralised stockyard for finished vehicles and additional warehousing for local content parts, enabling EPMB to meet rising demand from OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners while improving logistical efficiency.

As of end-2025, EPMB held a total cash position of RM69.51 million against short-term borrowings of RM112.24 million and long-term borrowings of RM57.09 million.
