KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): Malaysia’s iconic skyscraper, Menara Merdeka 118, has clinched two World Gold awards in the Office and Sustainable Development categories at the prestigious FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026.

According to a press statement issued by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd on Friday, the coveted accolades recognised the tower for elevating industry benchmarks as one of the world’s most outstanding developments.

The international wins come on the heels of Menara Merdeka 118 winning top accolades in the same categories at the FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards 2025.

“We are immensely gratified to receive the acclaimed FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards. It is a wonderful testament to a visionary tower that reflects our heritage and rich history, while embracing the future. It also speaks to PNB Merdeka Ventures’ commitment to excellence, sustainability and innovation in shaping a world-class development that is a source of national pride,” said PNB Merdeka Ventures CEO Datuk Izwan Ibrahim in the statement.

Standing at 678.9 metres, Menara Merdeka 118 is the tallest building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and serves as the centrepiece of a 40-acre integrated precinct in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

As the world’s second-tallest building, the development has gained international recognition for its sustainability credentials, heritage-led placemaking approach, and vision of creating a future-ready urban destination.

“Going beyond a landmark tower, Menara Merdeka 118 was conceived as a global destination that elegantly integrates world-class design and sustainability with connectivity and operational excellence to deliver lasting impact. We take pride in contributing to the growth, vibrancy, and long-term value of real estate in the nation, while uplifting surrounding communities,” Izwan said.
