Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) on Tuesday signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with three strategic partners, comprising SD Guthrie Bhd (KL:SDG), IJM Corporation Bhd (KL:IJM) and Yayasan Selangor, to develop an edu-technology park and a food security hub on Carey Island, Kuala Langat.

He said that as an initial step, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced an allocation of RM1 billion to facilitate the development of the identified border entry points.

Amirudin said investigations by the police, Minerals and Geoscience Department, and (DOSH) confirmed that the groundworks did not impact the gas pipeline.

Ng said the fund is necessary to ensure that enforcement actions are not perceived as weak, or taken lightly by operators who construct factories in prohibited or unsuitable areas.

He described the events as Malaysia’s bold response to the global call for climate-resilient cities and equitable development.
