“I received a letter from Mr Tommy Thomas, Attorney-General, on Thursday, Oct 25, who gave his view to the Parliament’s PAC to postpone sine die the 1MDB proceeding,” said PAC chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee in a press statement.

"If we want to look forward, there must be some closure with 1MDB. If everyone agrees that Jho Low is the critical piece to solve and close the issues surrounding 1MDB, I will help [to find him]. And when I say personal capacity, I will fund [the expenses] myself," he said.

"The debt shall only be deemed to be fully paid and settled upon the delivery of vacant possession of the units to Ipmuda in accordance with the relevant laws together with the certificate of completion and compliance for each unit."

Hasanah is accused of committing CBT in the Prime Minister's Department in Putrajaya between April 30 and May 9 this year. The charge was made under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which provides a maximum seven years' jail and whipping, as well as a fine upon conviction.

“My conscience is clear,” Najib told the media about his partaking in the decision to divert the funds.

Kiandee said the next and final witness for the proceedings will be current finance minister Lim Guan Eng.

Kiandee told reporters that the investigations will be reopened with summoning the first witness, former Auditor-General Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.

According to deputy PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh, who is also Ipoh Timur MP, the committee will meet Royal Malaysian Customs Director-General Datuk Seri Subromaniam Tholasy later this afternoon.

“Another thing that is interesting in the review is the guarantee of fair and reasonable development to states in the East Coast and Sabah and Sarawak."

This comes as Khazanah Research Institute’s “State of Households” report, released on Monday, stated the wealth gap in Malaysia is widening although the income growth among the middle income and low income (B40) groups is faster than that of the rich.
