The stock has been heavily traded since the appointment of a non-family member, CEO Abdul Jalil Abdul Rasheed. And right now, it has sparked speculation about what Berjaya group’s boss Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s next move will be.

Genting Hong Kong Ltd (GEN HK) announced the resignation of its controlling shareholder’s son Lim Keong Hui (pictured) from the board. Keong Hui is the son of Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, who is the group’s single largest shareholder holding a 76% equity stake. 

The only link between Gent HK and the two Bursa-listed companies is that they have a common controlling shareholder — Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay. Lim holds a 75.55% stake in Gent HK, and 44.8% in Genting Bhd, which controls 49.45% in GENTM and 52.66% in Genting Singapore Ltd (GENTS).

However, the overall deficit in 2020 is expected to be lower compared with 3.4% in 2019 with fiscal consolidation remaining on its trajectory and the debt position at a manageable level.

In just a year, Gamuda Bhd has divested its cash generative concession business.

Dr Mahathir has made it clear that Malaysia is supportive of BRI as this cooperation gives equal treatment to all participating countries, regardless of the size of the country’s economy and population.

The signing of the framework agreement was witnessed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and China's Premier Li Keqiang today.
