According to a notice dated yesterday issued by Dewan Negara secretary Muhd Sujairi Abdullah to Senate members, the office of the Dewan Negara president was notified by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the postponement in accordance with Standing Order 10(3) of the Dewan Negara.

The Covid-19 outbreak which has affected the country for almost two years had forced him to sell four of his 16 boats to cover his daily expenses.

A total of RM100 million was allocated for the implementation of the schemes under PEMULIH.

He said it was in line with the recommendation of Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. 

The pace of daily dose administered jumped to an average of 397,711 vaccine doses a day as of Saturday (July 31). 

Including today’s cases, the cumulative number of confirmed infections in the country totalled 1.13 million, according to the Ministry of Health.

The number of vaccine doses administered was higher than the 512,097 doses of vaccines administered on July 30, and marked the sixth consecutive day the country administered over 500,000 doses.

Terengganu recorded a sharp increase in new daily positive Covid-19 cases yesterday with 883 infections, including 860 cases of local transmission. It was the highest number since the pandemic hit.

National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said apart from scheduling an appointment time and implementing physical distancing, time spent at the vaccination centres would be cut short by speeding up the vaccination process for each recipient, which is done by introducing the digital consent form on the MySejahtera application

This is also the fourth time the daily’ Covid-19 infections cases surpassed 17,000-level for the past one week — with 17,045 on July 25 (Sunday), 17,405 on July 28 and 17,170 on July 29 (Thursday)
