KUALA LUMPUR: Whilst the Bahraini real estate sector may not have suffered the dramatic reversal of form experienced by many property markets across the Gulf, it has seen a fall off in activity, with the volume of sales and new leases down and many expecting a return to the heated conditions of before 2008 to be some time off.

KUALA LUMPUR: Country Heights Holdings Bhd posted a 38% revenue increase to RM65 million for 4Q2009, from RM47 million in 4Q2008. The group recorded a profit before tax (PBT) of RM16.3 million for 4Q2009 against a loss of RM7.8 million for 4Q2008.

KUALA LUMPUR: Ho Hup Construction Company Bhd recorded a pre-tax loss of RM30.5 million for FY2009 from RM55.9 million in FY2008, while its revenue for FY2009 stood at RM75.6 million compared with RM91.2 million in FY2008.

KUALA LUMPUR: Nam Fatt Corp Bhd posted lower revenue of RM165.6 million for FY2009 from RM582.3 million in FY2008, while its profit before tax increased from RM6.4 million for FY2008 to RM185.8 million for FY2009.

KUALA LUMPUR: Faber Group Bhd posted a 21.8% increase in revenue for FY2009 to RM805.3 million from RM661.2 million in FY2008, while its profit before tax went up 26.6%, or RM29.7 million, to RM141.2 million for FY2009. The group’s core businesses are integrated facilities management (IFM) and property development.

SELANGOR: Sunway City Bhd recorded revenue of RM1.6 billion and profit before tax of RM1.2 billion for FY2009. This is based on an 18-month period as its financial year-end was changed from June 30 to Dec 31.

KEPALA BATAS: Legal action will be taken by the Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda) on former Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) researcher Prof Dr Zainal Abidin Abdul Aziz for not settling rental since 2003 amounting to RM105,814.

KUALA LUMPUR: IJM Corp Bhd posted net profit of RM83.65 million in the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2009, up 45% from RM57.62 million a year ago, as the improvement in its earnings were boosted by the group's property division.

It said on Feb 25 that revenue fell 10.3% to RM936.31 million from RM1.04 billion. Earnings per share were 6.32 sen versus 4.67 sen.

KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Land & Development Bhd posted a 43% increase in revenue for 2Q2010 (ending Dec 31, 2009) to RM84.21 million, from RM58.887 in 2Q2009. Its profit before tax for 2Q2010 was RM6.48 million compared with RM0.69 million in 2Q2009.

PENANG: Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the Penang government will put forward a request for RM388 million to the federal government for conservation and restoration of the George Town World Heritage Site.

He said the request would be made under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) for the period from 2010 to 2015.
