KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): Police have detained two men believed to have been involved in breaking into the home of Sungai Besar Umno division head Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos (pictured) in Ampang here recently.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Hamzah Alias said both local men, aged 29 and 25, were arrested in separate raids in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan on Wednesday and Ampang on Thursday, reported Bernama.

“The man aged 29 was detained at about 2am in Paroi on Wednesday while his accomplice was detained in Ampang the next day at 6.30pm.

“Both worked as bodyguards,” Hamzah told Bernama.

He also added said the duo will be remanded until Thursday and the case was being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.

On June 17, four men were believed to have broken into Jamal’s house at around 8.30am, taking pairs of sunglasses, some clothes, handbags, a luggage bag and two CCTV decoders.

Jamal is also wanted by the police after a warrant of arrest has been issued against him for failing to show up at the remention of his case for smashing beer bottles at the front gate of the Selangor state secretary building last October.
