KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 28): IJM Land Bhd has opened Suria Park, a 4.42-acre community park within its Suria Hill township, reinforcing its commitment to shaping wellness-focused neighbourhoods in Bandar Puncak Alam.
Developed at a cost of RM3 million, Suria Park was designed by HODA Design and draws inspiration from the sun as a symbol of vitality and renewal.
The launch was commemorated with a tree planting programme involving residents, community leaders and partners, underscoring the park’s role as a symbol of sustainability and unity.
Facilities at the park include a 400-metre jogging track, 250-metre hiking trails, two multipurpose courts, a skate park, climbing wall and children’s playground. Other amenities include a cat park, outdoor fitness stations, Suria Gazebos, shaded seating, and visitor parking.
Accessibility features comprise barrier-free pathways, wheelchair-friendly equipment, tactile paving, and well-lit routes supported by a clear wayfinding system.
Environmental measures such as deep-rooted tree planting, earth drains and the use of eco-friendly materials were incorporated to preserve slope stability and enhance sustainability.
“Suria Park reflects that vision. It enriches daily life, whether through a morning jog, an evening stroll, or a lively game on the courts. It offers a safe and welcoming space where people can gather, share experiences and feel part of something larger. This is how we continue our journey with Puncak Alam, a place that has grown hand in hand with IJM Land from the very beginning,” said Datuk Chai Kian Soon, chief operating officer of IJM Land.
Mohammad Faisal Ismail, political secretary to the Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, said: “Suria Park is a clear example of how public spaces can bring lasting value to a community. It invites families, neighbours and children to come together in a safe and lively setting, while strengthening the social fabric of Bandar Puncak Alam.”
Suria Park forms part of Suria Hill’s broader masterplan, which includes 29 acres of parks and gardens and a 4.6-kilometre network of hiking and jogging trails linking the township’s green spaces. Suria Hill spans 170 acres at 50 metres above sea level, and is planned as a low-density development with only ten units per acre.
The township’s first residential phase, Soren, was launched in March 2025, and has reached an 80% take-up rate. Soren comprises 142 two-storey link homes on 20’x60’ land, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM87.9 million.
The next phase, Sovana, will offer 96 two-storey link homes on 20’x70’ land and is scheduled for soft launch in February 2026. Sovana carries a GDV of RM70.9 million and is designed for multigenerational living.
Suria Hill is accessible via Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari, Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway, Guthrie Corridor Expressway, Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway, and New Klang Valley Expressway. The upcoming East Coast Rail Link station, located about one-km away, will provide future rail access to the township.
Nearby amenities include Lotus’s, Econsave, Jaya Grocer, KIP Mall, Elmina Lakeside Mall, UiTM Puncak Alam Campus, and Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah.
