
Edwin Ong’s journey in real estate spans over 15 years, starting with a humble rental case. This initial transaction, which he secured just two months into his career, was the beginning of a relentless pursuit of excellence. He quickly learned that success was not about the size of the deal but about building a foundation of trust and consistency. From a novice agent, he has since evolved into a top producer and a respected leader, guiding a team of over 200 members.
Ong’s biggest breakthrough moment, which unlocked his millionaire journey, was a shift in his approach.
“My breakthrough came by focusing on clients and developing a strong network. My first RM100,000 was a direct result of being patient and persistent, serving clients with sincerity, and staying honest in every transaction.
Reaching RM500,000 required him to expand his network and embrace a new mindset, while his journey to RM1 million was a result of scaling up by leading and empowering others,” he said.
His daily performance is driven by a set of simple, yet powerful, habits. “I stay organised, prioritise client needs, and keep learning,” he explained.
This routine allows him to navigate a competitive market by positioning himself as a trusted, reliable partner. He builds his personal brand on integrity and professionalism, believing that these qualities lead to natural referrals and long-term client trust.
Looking back, Edwin considers the years following 2010 to be his most challenging. A major market downturn made deals scarce, but he survived by staying focused on his clients' needs and keeping a positive mindset.
Success comes with consistency and integrity
That steadfast belief of his allowed him to weather the storm and emerge stronger. He advises younger agents to follow the same path.
“Be patient and persistent. Focus on client needs and keep learning," Ong said.
His definition of success has also evolved, shifting from personal income to the legacy he hopes to leave.
