KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd (KL:KERJAYA) has secured a RM56.4 million construction contract from the Penang Chief Minister’s Department.

The contract, awarded to its wholly owned unit Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn Bhd, involves the construction of steel roof structures, including a hawker centre at Jalan Gurney in Penang.

The contract is to be completed 18 months from Wednesday, Kerjaya Prospek said in a filing with the local stock exchange.

The project is expected to provide an additional revenue stream over the next two years, and will contribute positively to earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025) to FY2027.

On Tuesday, Kerjaya Prospek announced two recurrent related-party construction contracts worth a combined RM197.7 million—comprising a RM100.2 million apartment project in Shah Alam from a subsidiary of Kerjaya Prospek Property Bhd (KL:KPPROP), and a RM97.5 million job to build canal bridges on Andaman Island, Penang.

Datuk Seri Tee Eng Ho, Datin Seri Toh Siew Chuon and Datuk Tee Eng Seng are major shareholders of all three companies and serve on their respective boards.

Shares of Kerjaya Prospek were two sen or 0.75% higher at RM2.70 at Wednesday’s noon break, valuing the group at RM3.42 billion.
