KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): IHG Hotels & Resorts is bringing its Vignette Collection brand to Malaysia for the first time through a partnership with Franky Group of Companies.

The two parties have signed Mangala Estate Kuantan, a 67-villa eco-luxury retreat in Pahang, which will be rebranded as Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection by IHG in 2027 following refurbishment. The property will mark both IHG’s brand debut in Malaysia under the Vignette Collection and its first hotel in the state of Pahang.

IHG Hotels & Resorts vice-president of development for Southeast Asia and Korea Bryan Chan said: “We’re delighted to introduce Vignette Collection into Malaysia with Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection by IHG. By adding this outstanding property to our portfolio, we continue to grow our Luxury & Lifestyle presence in the country, reflecting our confidence in its appeal as a leading tourist destination and its attractiveness as an investment opportunity.”

The property will join IHG’s system in mid-2026 and further expand the group’s presence in Malaysia’s key leisure markets.

Franky Group of Companies managing director and founder Datuk Franky Chua said: “We are excited to partner with IHG and introduce Mangala Estate Kuantan to the Vignette Collection portfolio. Our vision for Mangala Estate has always been to offer an eco-luxury retreat that harmonises with its environment and community. IHG’s global reputation for excellence, together with Vignette Collection’s focus on individuality and purpose, makes this brand a perfect fit to share our story with a broader audience.”

Mangala Estate Kuantan, Vignette Collection by IHG is surrounded by greenery and palm plantations, with facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, poolside bar, spa, wellness centre, two lakes, and flexible meeting spaces for up to 400 guests.

Each villa is designed to reflect the natural environment and support the property's positioning as an eco-luxury destination. The development aligns with Vignette Collection’s sustainability-led hallmark, 'Means for Good'.

Kuantan recorded 2.28 million visitors in 2024, making it Malaysia’s second-most-visited destination. The state government is actively promoting the region to support further tourism growth.

Vignette Collection currently comprises 27 hotels across 17 countries, with a pipeline of 41 more. In Malaysia, IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio includes InterContinental Kuala Lumpur and Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park, with four additional hotels under development.
