PETALING JAYA (April 1): IJM Corp Bhd has secured a RM658.01 million contract for the construction of a hyperscale data centre in Elmina Business Park, Selangor.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today (April 1), the group said its wholly owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, has accepted a letter of award from Sime Darby Property (EBP Asset II) Sdn Bhd.

Project scope and contract value

The contract covers the main building works (core and shell) for a hyperscale data centre under Package 2 at Elmina Business Park.

*Contract sum: RM658.01 million
*Scope: Construction and completion of core and shell works
*Project type: Hyperscale data centre

Development timeline

According to a report by The Edge Malaysia:

*Construction commencement: Expected in 2Q2026
*Target completion:
3Q2027

The report also noted that the broader scope includes testing, commissioning and ancillary facilities as part of the development package.

Second contract within Elmina data centre development

This marks IJM’s second contract within the Elmina Business Park data centre development.

Based on reported disclosures, including The Edge Malaysia, the group’s total contract value for the project exceeds RM1.9 billion.

Tender and award basis

According to the report, the contract was awarded following a competitive tender process, where:

*Multiple contractors participated after a pre-qualification stage
*Selection was based on commercial, technical and capacity assessments
*Evaluation also considered performance on earlier project packages

Project positioning

The hyperscale data centre forms part of the broader Elmina Business Park development in Selangor, undertaken by Sime Darby Property Bhd.
