PETALING JAYA (May 1): Ng Chan Mau & Co (NCM Co) together with Owner Auction and Lapan Art Auction, has launched Jelajah Harta Tanah Malaysia 2026, the latest edition of its Auction Carnival series, drawing more than 400 registered bidders and participation from 14 financial institutions at the inaugural event.

Commenced on Tuesday, April 28, the nationwide auction series, aligned with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and supported by Tourism Malaysia, operates under a hybrid auction-and-carnival format spanning property, automotive and lifestyle categories across multiple regions.

According to its press release, auction results were mixed across geographies. The Southern Region led with an 84% success rate, while the East Coast region recorded a 25% success rate.

The Central Region saw competitive upbidding of up to 26% above reserve prices, signalling healthy demand for quality assets in strategic locations.

The primary event was held at the NCM Co Auction Hall, situated within Megan Avenue 2 in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

More than 30 East Malaysia properties were also successfully sold, underscoring the series' nationwide reach.

On the property front, newly completed units in prime locations drew notable buyer interest, with participants showing appetite for assets offering capital growth and rental yield potential.

The automotive segment, meanwhile, recorded sales across Japanese, Continental and locally assembled vehicles.

In line with the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia initiative, the event incorporated domestic tourism outreach, including 5-star hotel staycation prizes for the top three bidders and 100 pairs of Zoo Negara tickets distributed to the top 100 participants.

The official Visit Malaysia 2026 mascots, Manja and Wira, made a special appearance, while Zoo Negara's outreach team operated a booth promoting conservation awareness.

Beyond the auction floor, the carnival featured local food and beverage vendors, cultural performances including multinational song routines and a fire belly dance, drawing sizable crowds throughout the day.

NCM Co said the 2026 edition saw increasing traction among first-time auction buyers exploring the channel as an alternative route to acquiring quality assets.

The group said it remains committed to connecting buyers, investors and asset owners through transparent auction solutions while expanding public participation under the broader "Jelajah" concept across different regions for the rest of the year.
