PETALING JAYA (June 12): UDA Holdings Bhd has handed over all 153 units of Areca Terrace Phase 4B in Bandar UDA Utama, Johor Bahru ahead of schedule, with the development fully sold.

In a statement today, UDA said the key handover ceremony was held from May 18 to May 21. The freehold development comprises 153 two-storey terrace houses with built-ups of 1,518 sq ft, each offering four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and includes a children’s playground within a gated-and-guarded neighbourhood.

According to UDA, buyers were predominantly professionals and young families aged between 30 and 45, which the company attributed to the project’s modern concept and practical layout. UDA also collaborated with IKEA Tebrau Johor to produce a minimalist and functional show unit, which it said helped prospective purchasers in making their decisions.

Bandar UDA Utama is a mature township near educational institutions, healthcare facilities and shopping centres, with direct access to Johor Bahru City Centre, the Second Link to Tuas in Singapore, Senai International Airport and the Johor Bahru Customs, Immigration and Quarantine complex.

Acting chief operating officer of UDA Land (South) Sdn Bhd Norazim Shukor said the take-up reflects buyer confidence in UDA’s products and brand, adding that the group plans to introduce more two-storey terrace house developments emphasising practical layouts, contemporary design and added value for family living.
