KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Green Building Confederation (MGBC), a non-governmental organisation, launched the online version of its first green building product and services directory GreenPagesMalaysia on Thursday, Dec 30.

According to a statement released by MGBC, the industry directory's aim is to create and establish a network to connect sustainable building products and services to conscientious clients, architects, engineers, developers as well as construction professionals.

GreenPagesMalaysia is a directory that provides a database on green resources available in Malaysia and the immediate region for the building and construction industry. Information provided includes articles, views, editorials and a comprehensive list of building materials, services, products and technologies for construction, completion as well as fit-out works.

"MGBC aspires to promote the benefits of sustainable green building practices and encourage private and public sectors to apply green concepts to protect the environment. We want to ensure that adequate knowledge is shared and support is provided to accelerate the pace of change," MGBC president Von Kok Leong said.

He added that the initiative is not just about green buildings, their technologies or materials. "With the information provided, we are able to help developers, designers and the general public to make the right decisions that will result in a sustainable built environment," he said.

Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, facility and asset managers, developers, contractors, green building service providers and other organisations related to the green building industry are welcome to submit their product information with proof of adoption or implementation of green technologies.
