The Federal Territories Department has identified eight sites for the development of subsidised public rental housing (PASS) to ensure the bottom 40% income group continues to have access to safe, liveable and inclusive housing in the federal capital.

A Bill (RUU) to facilitate co-located border control operations for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS Link) project is expected to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat in February next year, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Federal Territories Department (JWP) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) have been directed to review all recommendations by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) concerning land development in the capital despite some issues falling outside their jurisdiction.

A total of RM20.9 billion in financing guarantees under the Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme (SJKP) has been approved involving 88,507 applications since its implementation in 2008 up to May 31 this year.

Loke said the project is now in its final phase, with track infrastructure fully completed.

The fund was increased by RM10 billion this year, bringing the overall allocation to RM30 billion.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) Electric Train Service 3 (ETS3) for the southern route will commence operations involving the Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral)–Kluang–KL Sentral route on Aug 30, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

The proposal to purchase land in Saudi Arabia will be carefully reviewed, considering market conditions, risks, and the financial capacity of Lembaga Tabung Haji, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

The government has agreed to settle the outstanding land premium compensation owed to the Negeri Sembilan government involving land at the Syed Sirajuddin Camp in Gemas, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said on Saturday.

The government will offer incentives to property developers that adopt the ‘build and sell’ policy, with the aim of eliminating abandoned projects by 2030.
