A bid by the former operator of Kuala Lumpur Tower to institute contempt proceedings against Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and others was tossed out of court on Monday.

The High Court has fixed next Monday (June 9) to deliver its decision on whether to grant leave (permission) to the former operator of KL Tower to initiate proceedings against eight individuals and entities, including the government, for committal.

A three-member Court of Appeal bench on Friday dismissed an appeal by the former operator of the Kuala Lumpur Tower for an ad interim injunction (temporary injunction) to halt the government’s award of the KL Tower concession to a subsidiary of Lim Seong Hai Capital Bhd (KL:LSH), LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd.

The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) told the High Court it wants to be heard in a contempt case filed by former KL Tower operator Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd and Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd against government officials and the new KL Tower operators.
