The Local Government Development Ministry (KPKT) welcomes the announcement by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that private housing developers should also bear responsibility for building affordable homes

Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Malaysia is of the view that to make housing “more affordable for all rakyat, the government should be fully responsible for the delivery of affordable housing, as it was over 50 years ago, and as it is in many countries worldwide”.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants the Local Government Development Ministry to review conditions set for housing developers to ensure that they provide affordable housing for all mega projects developed.

The task force for sick and abandoned private housing projects has identified 110 projects that have been delayed, 435 sick projects and 112 abandoned projects as of March 31.
