A total of 64,929 inspections, involving 17,765 personnel,  were conducted to ensure compliance with the prescribed SOP at supermarkets, restaurants, hawkers, factories, banks, government offices, government offices, as well as land, air and sea transport terminals.

In some cases, as many as 15 to 20 workers are sharing a three-bedroom apartment of less than 1,000 sq ft with one or two washrooms.

The Federal Government has allocated aid under Bantuan Prihatin Nasional and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak government has also channelled various types of aid under the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang stimulus packages.

The new infections comprise 15 imported cases, involving 11 Malaysian citizens and four non-citizens, and two local transmission cases with both involving Malaysians.

Out of the 10 imported cases, eight cases were from India, one from Indonesia and one more from Qatar.

“The PPR residents are very resilient and they adapted well to the new normal despite the numerous challenges faced. While one-off cash handout helps, they prefer sustainable assistance that can enable them to earn income,” DM Analytics managing director Muhammed Abdul Khalid.
