KUALA LUMPUR (May 23): UOA Development Bhd independent director Alan Charles Winduss has been redesignated as independent and non-executive chairman of the company.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, UOA Development said the 77-year-old Australian was appointed as a director of the company on Jan 24, 2011. He is also a member of UOA Development's audit and risk management committee, as well as the nomination and remuneration committee.

Winduss is a director of Winduss & Associates Pty Ltd Chartered Accountants. He has been involved in professional public practice for over 30 years, specialising in matters relating to corporate management, restructuring, corporate finance and company secretarial matters, including the Australian Securities Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange and Investments Commission compliance.

Winduss is also a member of various professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Certified Public Accountants Australia. In addition, he is an associate fellow of the Australian Institute  of Management, a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a registered Australian company auditor.

UOA Development shares ended the morning session unchanged at RM2.59 today, with 24,000 shares traded, bringing a market capitalisation of RM4.49 billion. — theedgemarkets.com
