KUALA LUMPUR (June 20): Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh (pictured) today urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to keep the public updated on its probe into development at Taman Rimba Kiara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail reported The Malaysian Insight news portal today.

"In Kuala Lumpur, I know a lot of people want to know the status [of the investigation] and I hope the MACC will give updates on it, especially former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor's role in it," she told the media from the Segambut parliamentary office here today.

Yeoh also said that she was “told to not comment on the matter as the MACC was in the process of investigating the matter”, reported The Malaysian Insight.

The Segambut MP had lodged a MACC report against Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) last month over the land sale in Taman Rimba Kiara to stop the proposed project on the site.

Jointly undertaken by Malton Bhd and YWP, the project involves eight blocks of high-end serviced apartments and one block of affordable housing.

“We are not against the provision of public housing to the people. But I think it is for far too long a vehicle like YWP uses housing as an excuse for them to do deals like this,” Yeoh said when lodging the report.

She also said back then that the land in Taman Rimba Kiara was acquired by YWP under Tengku Adnan’s purview and then sold to the developer in the name of providing housing for longhouse residents.
