Annie Bong, real estate was more than just a career shift, it was the beginning of a new chapter driven by freedom, passion, and purpose. After leaving a long career in banking in 2009, he dove into real estate, specializing in new project marketing in Kuching, Sarawak. Her journey soon expanded across West Malaysia, from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru, as she ventured into subsales, land deals, joint ventures, and property rentals. With over 15 years of experience in property marketing and four years in valuation as a Probationary Valuer, she now continues to pursue her Probationary Estate Agent qualification with PropNex Realty Sarawak Branch.
High income, flexible working lifestyle, and passion in real estate
Annie said “I simply love property. I enjoy sharing property knowledge and feel satisfied when people find their homes or make the right investments through me.”
That passion, paired with discipline and perseverance, became the foundation for her consistent performance. She credits her success to daily habits that keep her grounded, staying disciplined, maintaining a learner’s mindset, and always working with sincerity toward clients’ best interests.
Among her proudest moments in 2024 was closing a remarkable RM11 million subsale building deal through co-broking with a team member. What seemed impossible at first required patience, persistence, and multiple rounds of negotiation to bring both buyer and seller to a fair agreement.
“I still remember receiving the booking payment while walking down the streets of Korea, the feeling of achievement and satisfaction was beyond words”, Annie reminisced about those meaningful moments.
Yet, her journey was not without challenges. Returning to real estate full-time in 2022 after years in valuation, he found himself rebuilding from scratch, balancing personal sales, recruitment, and project management. The transition demanded long hours, adaptability, and renewed focus. Despite the exhaustion, he found clarity by realigning her priorities, choosing to channel her energy into personal sales and leading multiple project initiatives.
For Annie , 2024 was a defining year, one of both growth and reflection. Her advice to those striving for their first RM200,000 breakthrough is simple yet powerful. That reaffirmed her belief that real success in real estate comes not just from hard work but from focus and persistence. Annie goes by being focused and persistent in her career, as if there's a will, there’s a way.
