KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 25): Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) Youth has urged 1Malaysia People's Housing Projects (PR1MA) to shift the draw date for PR1MA houses at Hotel Grand Kampar, Perak that has been fixed on Deepavali, Oct 29, Bernama reported today.

The organisation’s chief C Sivarraajh today said in a statement that he was shocked by the insensitivity of the PR1MA housing board to organise its draw on Deepavali.

"We [MIC] want the date to be changed immediately," he said.

Besides being a day of celebrations, Hindus also have to perform religious duties on Deepavali and that will make it very difficult for them to attend the draw on the same day, Sivarraajh explained.

He hopes the draw will be held on another day when Hindus will be free to take part in the PR1MA draw, Bernama reported.
