Bandar Raya Developments Bhd (BRDB) hopes to deliver its promise of building good-quality homes to a wider global audience while expanding its reach on the international front. This is the plan for its next level of growth, said its chief executive Datuk Jagan Sabapathy.

“To bring BRDB to the next level, our plan is to simply continue doing more of what we are already doing right, and use our innovation and foresight to prepare ourselves for the future.

“By raising the bar on creativity and innovation, our aim is to create landmarks of distinction and a sense of community in every location we operate in,” he added.

Currently, the developer has a project in Pakistan called Defence Raya Lahore Golf Course, while it is planning another project in Oman.

It is also looking at other countries, particularly developed economies such as London and Singapore, for possible property development opportunities as part of its new five-year growth plan.

Brand development will be crucial in achieving its next five-year plan (2011 to 2015) and plans to build on the strength of its brand that is associated with high quality.

BRDB will be launching projects in Kiara North, Bukit Bandaraya, Taman Duta, CapSquare, all in Kuala Lumpur; Subang Jaya in Selangor; Bandar Baru Permas Jaya and Puteri Harbour in Johor as well as a project in Oman targeted to bring in RM7 billion to RM8 billion in revenue during the five–year period.

Being ranked among the Top 10 developers of The Edge Top Property Developers Awards 2010, Jagan said it was a great affirmation of the company’s success in the Malaysian market. He reckons that the awards is a motivation to push the company to reach even greater heights in the year ahead.

BRDB is ranked No 8 and has been on the Top 10 list of The Edge Top Property Developers Awards since its inception in 2003. It recently completed Menara BRDB, which is located adjacent to its Bangsar Shopping Centre.
