A new prime minister who has the majority’s support will be appointed to lead the cabinet.

In a report, Maybank Investment Bank Research has kept its full-year growth target at 4.2% for now, given the “fluid 2H2021 outlook on containment measures, politics and GDP”. 

“The Cabinet has tendered our resignation to the Agong, Thank you again for the opportunity to, once again, serve the nation. May God bless Malaysia.” 

Based on the government's target of having 80% of the population fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to achieve herd immunity, the country will need to have about 26 million people completing their two-dose vaccination.

This, he said, was achieved through an average daily vaccination rate of almost 400,000, surpassing its target of 300,000 daily doses in July.

However, the operating capacity will be dependent on the level of vaccination of the workers.

The people allowed to travel to Langkawi will only be limited to individuals who have received full vaccination.

Mohd Redzuan, the member of parliament for Alor Gajah in Melaka, said the meeting discussed the direction for the party if Muhyiddin resigns as the prime minister.

While the intention to narrow down the quality applicants is welcome, we would suggest a possibly better win-win solution where the government will consider only RM1 million of liquid assets and RM500,000 of fixed assets instead, said FIABCI Malaysia president Datuk Sri Koe Peng Kang.
