KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): Malaysians returning from abroad will have to bear 50% of the RM150 per day quarantine cost starting June 1, Malaysiakini reported today.

All non-Malaysians including permanent residents and dependents, meanwhile, will have to pay the full cost.

According to Malaysiakini, Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said all returnees will have to sign agreements to pay the necessary costs before they can make the journey home.

He said the agreements will be available at Malaysian foreign missions, and airlines must ensure that all passengers have a signed agreement on them before allowing passengers to board.
