KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): Property developer UEM Sunrise Bhd today announced that its managing director/chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib (pictured) has given notice of his resignation.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia, UEM Sunrise said its board will deliberate on the effective date of Anwar Syahrin’s resignation.

“In the meantime, a transition plan will be executed for smooth handover of his responsibilities to ensure continued management of UEM Sunrise's business and operations,” said the statement.

UEM Sunrise has been in the news in recent days over a potential merger with another property developer, Eco World Development Group Bhd.
