KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): Sunway Construction Group Bhd (KL:SUNCON) has secured an engineering contract worth RM1.02 billion for a data centre project in Johor.
Works involve mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out with the letter of award also serving as the notice-to-proceed, according to an exchange filing. The job is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027, Sunway Construction said.
The client was only identified as a US-headquartered multinational technology company and the exact location of the data centre were not disclosed.
The latest award raises Sunway Construction’s new order wins for the financial year ending March 31, 2027 (FY2027) to RM5.8 billion while outstanding jobs on hand stand at RM10.4 billion.
Shares of Sunway Construction fell nine sen, or 1.1%, to RM7.83 at Monday's midday break ahead of the contract announcement. The stock has gained more than 37% so far this year, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM10.43 billion.
