PETALING JAYA (Sept 21): Tropicana Corp Bhd has begun implementing a company-wide management system aimed at streamlining processes, strengthening governance and improving organisational performance.
In a statement on Friday (Sept 18), the property developer said the Tropicana Integrated Management System (TIMS) is scheduled to run until the end of 2027.
The system is intended to bring together business functions and management disciplines including project management, finance, marketing and sales, human resources, internal audit, legal, procurement, quality assurance, environmental management, occupational health and safety, risk management and anti-bribery practices.
Built around three components — people, process and performance — TIMS is designed to reduce duplication, standardise workflows, improve cross-functional collaboration and support decision-making, Tropicana said.
The group said the system would incorporate governance, risk management, compliance and sustainability considerations into its day-to-day operations and business processes.
Tropicana added that TIMS is governed by risk, driven by performance and sustained through the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, which provides a structured approach to continuous improvement.
According to the group, the initiative goes beyond compliance and certification requirements by creating a structured operating environment intended to better connect teams, processes and performance.
Tropicana said TIMS would also enable it to review and strengthen its management systems and business processes as its operations and business environment evolve.
Supporting ESG commitments
Tropicana said TIMS supports its broader environmental, social and governance direction by incorporating sustainability, governance, risk and compliance considerations into its operations.
The initiative is aligned with the group’s ESG pillars of people, planet and partnership, and is intended to support responsible business practices and organisational resilience.
Tropicana also said it maintained a four-star ESG rating under the FTSE ESG assessment with Bursa Malaysia in 2025 and 2026. The group said this reflected its progress in ESG performance, governance and sustainability disclosures.
