KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 31): UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson (pictured) is mulling another national lockdown next week, The Times reported today.

The latest development is due to concerns about hospitals being overwhelmed by a spike in Covid-19 cases in the UK.

The Times stated that the lockdown “could be introduced on Wednesday and remain in place until Dec 1”. Johnson “is expected” to hold a media conference on Monday to announce the new lockdown.

Lockdown “measures” could mean “everything” will be closed except essential shops and "educational settings”, said the daily.

The newspaper also added, based on a senior government source, that the national lockdown is “still under discussion” and that “no final decision had been made”.
